Getting in the holiday groove. Kind of, sort of, hopefully...

Time to start going through old magazines for ideas and inspiration.
Love paper clay...
The studio annex...also known as the original craft room, office, library and/or Tabitha's room.
Playing around with a chipboard book as this year's Christmas card idea.
Using up scraps of paper and images for gift tags.
I HAD to go to Michael's the other day. I hate going there but our locally owned Ben Franklin Craft store didn't have what I needed so I had to stop off at Michael's. I spied these tins and automatically put them in the cart. One dollar each and there were 6 of them. What am I going to do with them? I was thinking I could either make candles using the tins as containers or make some votives and stick a couple in the tin with a decorated match box. I am going to be making caramels so I could put them in the tins. Any other ideas?

I have more pics and ideas floating that need to get posted soon. What are you doing for Christmas/Solistice/whatever you celebrate gifts this year?

For the tins you could make really special cookies and stack them on top of each other.

At Christmas I try to give thoughtfull (cheap) gifts to the few adults I give presents to. In the last year or so I also try to make it usefull but luxurios (crap I can't spell) items. Stuff they wouldn't normally get for themselves but that won't be sitting around and junking up thier houses in years to come.

Wow! You are quick. I know what you mean about useful but special presents. I want stuff to get used and enjoyed and not clutter up someone's space. I thought about cookies, but I have some other plans for those. Hopefully I will get it all together. -t

I've been crocheting and sewing... so lot's of scarves, hats, and simple goodies... so far. Cookies would stack nicely in those tins.

I like the idea of making them into candles. I love gift tags out of old cards and such, too. Can't wait to see them!

I'm not sure what I'm doing this year. I was thinking maybe home roasted coffee for one. That isn't suitable for my girls, however. I always hand make a Christmas gift and I'm kind of stuck on what to do this year!
