Candlelight

I hope everyone had a good day yesterday. Hopefully your day wasn't a "celebration of obligation" as a person near and dear to me calls it. It was a low key day around here. Watched a Dr. Who Christmas special from last year via Netflix in the afternoon and then went to my Mom and step-Dad's place around 3. This year due to finances the whole gift giving hullaballoo was scaled way down. Yeah!!!! The gifts were fewer but more thoughtfully selected it seems. I would be happy if we skipped the gift giving totally but that is heresy as far as my Mom is concerned. As it turns out, I am quite glad we didn't skip it totally. I received an Aebleskiver pan from my brother! I am thrilled! I will report on the outcome.

Getting in the holiday groove. Kind of, sort of, hopefully...

Time to start going through old magazines for ideas and inspiration.
Love paper clay...
The studio annex...also known as the original craft room, office, library and/or Tabitha's room.
Playing around with a chipboard book as this year's Christmas card idea.
Using up scraps of paper and images for gift tags.
I HAD to go to Michael's the other day. I hate going there but our locally owned Ben Franklin Craft store didn't have what I needed so I had to stop off at Michael's. I spied these tins and automatically put them in the cart. One dollar each and there were 6 of them. What am I going to do with them? I was thinking I could either make candles using the tins as containers or make some votives and stick a couple in the tin with a decorated match box. I am going to be making caramels so I could put them in the tins. Any other ideas?

I have more pics and ideas floating that need to get posted soon. What are you doing for Christmas/Solistice/whatever you celebrate gifts this year?

Hmmm....I'm thinking Christmas presents

I used to take classes in all sorts of things. After I bought my house seven years ago I kind of got caught up in house stuff and mortgage payments. I pursued my interests, but not as much as I wanted. Well, I decided after a pretty nasty case of depression this summer to take some classes. I took an evening aromatherapy class last month and a bookbinding class at Oregon Art Supply. This is the book from that class ,taught by Jill Cardinal, just finished today. It was a 3 day class but I missed last week as I was sick. It is called a map book. It's an accordian style book. Normally there would be a pocket with a pamphlet booklet inside, but some how I skipped a step and missed that part. All in all I am pretty darn happy with the book and the class. So much so that I signed up for another one starting next weekend.
